My main Windows hard drive is running very hot and vibrating too the point that the whole case is making a noise. Other than that it seems to be fine.

Time for replacement?

Re-mount the hard drive to the chassis. Also, get a fan near your hard drive cage.

Edit: Also, buy and SSD.

How old is the drive?
Before considering a re-mount or anything else, backup your data and then run an extended SMART scan.

how hot is very hot?
have you done a test on your HDD to see its health?
More worrying is that you are unsure if it must be replaced. I would say yes. and soon.
backup>SSD>throw HDD far away>rejoice

You can check your hard drive's health by downloading Hard disk sentinel. It'll show you Hard Drive's health and temperature.

Will do that thanks a lot.

Might be LinkedIn stealing your files to give to your other profiles before you sue them

LinkedIn created so many profiles of me my hard drive is struggling to load them all into memory when I open my web browser.

Running it now.

Edit: Hard drive in perfect health. No issues found and no over heating. I think I'll try again a bit later once the machine has been running for a few hours. Have a new hard drive arriving tomorrow just in case.

It seems that the problem is with my external HD. Showing red and warnings all over the place. Somehow that's affecting the whole machine as after I unplugged it that shuddering/vibrating of the box stopped and it was quiet again. Dark Disk Sentinel says the external has around 21 days of life left.
