Good morning people

My hard drive is partitioned into 2 drives (C and D). C is 92GB and D is 56GB. Windows and programs are installed on C. Is it possible to delete the D partition so that C has got all the space (160GB) without uninstalling the operating system, or losing data on C ?

Thanks

TCO

Yes you can do that with something like Parted Magic or Easeus Partition Manager, as long as you don't have anything installed on D.

playing with fire :)

just borrow your mates external and back up first...
if you have windows 7 you can do it in the disk manager.
delete partition D:
then extend c to make use of d.

Have already backed up the data. Will try Easeus Partition Manager. Thanks people.

a quick, easy and simple way is to just use disk manager to delete the drive letter d:, and then mount it in an empty ntfs folder on c

so make c:\downloads

and use disk manager to mount your partition which used to be d into c:\downloads...

this works easily if you use your d drive for "stuff"/storage.

Consider your question answered above.
My 2c. I've used acronis and partition magic to do this. Both work well.
Tons of tools available via the Hiren's CD. But you didn't hear that from me ;)

extend system partition without unistalling operating system...

actually, you need not to delete D partition, you could directly shrink some unallocated space and then merge the free space to c partition. like people said, you could choose some reliable partition tools to reach the operation. here, please refer the article about resize partition which is related to your problem, hope you could find the best method (:

Used Minitool partition software. Worked like a charm. Thanks for all the suggestions
