Hi, a while ago I got a game from Thailand when my mother went over there. It was like a Star Wars all-in-one disk. It was copied onto a regular 700mb CD. It had many Star Wars games including Jedi Knight 2, StarFighter, Episode One, The Racing One. (Big fan of Star Wars).

They were all zipped using some program written by someone called Uwe Herklotz. Now what was amazing is that Jedi Knight 2, Unzipped from about 70mb, to over a gig.
How on earth do they do that!?!?!
 
UHArc doesn't compress better than 7-Zip although it is more popular with release groups, the method they use to compress it so low is they transcode all the audio tracks to Mp3 and then back to WAV upon "installation". Quality loss is obviously present. They might also transcode cut scenes.

Theoretically you could transcode Audio, Video and Image files to respective formats with very high compression rates, although the game isn't quite the original when it's all back together. Lossless compression formats like Flac or WavPack can compress audio files far more than even 7-Zip can, and they are lossless, so that is another option. You might notice modern games (at least the ones worth mentioning) don't use wav audio files anymore so the option has long since disappeared.
