My current gig:

  • Intel i3-3250
  • 4GB DDR3 1066 RAM
  • Windows 10 ;)
  • NVidia thing that I forget -- does 1920xwhataver locked to max 60fps fine, on 59Hz 23-inch.

Pre-patch 2.4.3, everything was fine.

On 2.4.3 PTR with the new 64-bit client, performance was poor -- stuttering, lagging, sound snagging, etc. -- so I switched back to 32-bit client. Same thing for the 2.4.3 Live.

A hotfix for 2.4.3 has just been released, claiming to fix the 64-bit issues, but the improvement for me is minimal at best.

I'm happy to stay with the 32-bit client, but the visuals from the 64-bit seems (?) to be better, and it's "better" to run 64-bit software if possible I guess.

So my question is -- is it worth throwing in another 4GB RAM? It seems the 64-bit client is working well for many people -- but some with top-end machines still report problems.

Suggestions?

I thought the graphics was related to dx11 not the 64 bit btw?
Works fine for me. Can't remember my gfx card but I have 16gb of ram

Try the following

Something to try, it has worked for some people using Windows 10.
1) Click on the Start menu and click on the Xbox app (you might have to log in).
2) Click on Settings (the cog on the left at the bottom of the icons).
3) Click on the Game DVR tab and turn off the 'Record game clips and screenshots using Game DVR' setting.
4) Restart PC.

They had an issue with their 64-bit client, which uses DX11. Anyone in a multiplayer game had massive FPS drops, or alone in a game but in-chat with communities.

The 32-bit client had no issues, and uses DX9.

Here's a link to the hotfix: https://us.battle.net/forums/en/d3/topic/20752620685

That's why I had no problems - forever alone me.

That being said, now that I think about it I was in multiplayer yesterday before the hotfix with no issues.

Seeing another update come through now...

Not sure mine has updated ... I'm on 2.4.3.42934, which was the one from a day or two ago I think ...
