Depends on your needs. That router you mentioned has 8 lan ports and 3167mbps wifi speed.

I am using this one (ASUS RT-AC1200G) with my fibre line. Only 4 ports, but enough for me and wifi is upto 1200mbps, again fast enough for me transferring files wirelessly and even streaming uhd files on my lan and my fibre connection is actually 50mbps.

You can even turn off the wifi and pair it with one of these:

From what I can see it will be even cheaper, and will have better overall performance and security.

I have a similar setup, but just have the Mikrotik Hex router, but the Hap ac2 is newer and more performant.

You can also look at the Edgerouter X from ubiquiti (but will have to pair him with an AP like the Lite as well.

+1 along with much greater configurability. The MikroTik RouterOS is a bit daunting at first but definitely worth the learning curve.

Part of me just wants to grab one, but all of AMD's new stuff is coming out this year. New CPUs in a couple of months and new GPUs in third quarter. My PC is getting a bit long in the tooth but I think I can hold out a bit longer.

I'm thinking the exact same thing.

End of this year could be a great time to build a new PC

Wll, the price is now back to R4,527 on Loot and "Out of Stock" on RARU. It was either a hell of a deal or a supplier pricing error. Either way, I hope they honour the price for everyone that ordered.

I will give you a GPU depending on how old your current one is lol. Call it a birthday present
 
know its not hardware bargain but flysafeair special starts at 9am today R5 tickets if you can get them that is
