Since when have they ever been a dealer...?

When I approached Axiz for the first time, they wouldn't register me because I wasn't a registered entity ... and they told me to buy from PC Int as they are a sub dealer. But I was there 2 weeks ago (to buy ram cheaper than my suppliers ) ... and I asked them how they get such cheap discounts from Axiz, and they told me straight that the don't use Axiz anymore, and import everything themselves. THey honour the warranties. Great for Jhb guys, no so much for the rest of the country :/

Thats what I was thinking. Thanks for clearing that up :)

Unethical I can live with, illegal I can't :p

How so? I really want to know your reasoning.

I can't stand the cozy little relationship between distributors and retailers who alway add a fat percentage. Why is this of benefit to us the consumer other than the warranty, which as the retailer will always tell us lies with the distributor? Tell me why we shouldn't be able to deal with distributors direct (other than convenience, which becomes irrelevant when there are warranty issues).

I'm not quite sure what you to are fighting about, but I don't think we take a fat percentage. Mine are anywhere between 5 and 10% usually. Sometimes a little more when credit cards are involved.

You must also remember, that where you know what you are doing and could happily deal with the dealer, there are 1000's more who need help with their systems and need the more personal support the distributors can't offer.

Yes, the warranty lies with them, but we go through all the effort on their behalf.

Just trying to let you see it from my perspective :)

Fact remaims (imo) eitai's an old hand here & I don't feel there is any transgression, for him or any other listed dealer to pop in this thread. Perhaps as a last resolve, they could link a thread in here with their special thats in the demarcated forum.

At the end of the day. Who here has had issues with DA's service.

I've not seen any mention of it.

At the end of the day we all benefit from the word of mouth deals, from registeted dealers or friends we've encountered here.

Spamming is a No-No.
But I don't feel Eitai's been doing that.

For those whom are in the trade & feel they're not benefitting; Register as a dealer or simply network with us :)

I'd for one would gladly support a fellow member than big corporates.

geez its a miracle your still running etai at 5-10% Any shop you see in a mall makes a minimum of 33%

Exactly

Online is a volume based business, not a margin based one ... and I'm trying my best to get as big as I can.

I'm getting on fine though because I still work during the day for Cats Digital (it's amazing how I still manage to attend to your emails at the same time hug ;) )

My office is actually based inside the Cats Fourways branch with the owners permission :) ... thats why I can afford to give such good deals.

The only pain in the rear I have is the 4% credit card commission I have to pay. I have even subsidized all the courier fees (yes I make a loss on whatever courier someone takes). But this should in the long run let me grow bigger.

My eventual goal is to be a big player in the market. I now have more direction with DA then I did 2 years ago, and I know where I want to be.

No problem with you Eitai at all and I've done business with to you my satisfaction and thanks for that. Why the comment about illegal (which wasn't yours)?

Btw no one can compete with pcints prices , cause what they are doing is unethical

I think you misinterpreted what I said.

flashfire: PCInt has good prices, though they are able to sell parts at cheap prices unethically (acting as a distributor and not a retailer)
Me: I can live with that :p
You: Explain your reasoning. Why can't we buy from distributors and get good prices?

Not exactly sure what I'm supposed to say to that
