Well I know for a fact that at Game in the Somerset Mall, Somerset West, they have the 2494HS monitors. Well they do not have stock yet, but I have given them my name and contact details and will be getting one as soon as they receive their stock.

Lol. Roflol. They did get stock. Got some sometime between 1-4pm on Thursday. A friend of mine went at about 1pm, no stock, left his contact details with them. He contacted them later in the day only to hear the ~8? screens they got were already sold out - and no, they never contacted him.

Epic end to the day - The guy from game I spoke to this morning called me and said they have received their stock of the monitors, at first wasn't interested until he told me they were the P2450H's! :D

Luckily enough I got the last 3, they only got 5 in sock which is a bit ridiculous but anyway very happy!

Awesome!!! Happy with the P2450?

Just a side note for the guys in KZN:
PC Zone has the Samsung BX2335 23" Full HD LED monitor @1799

:D:D:D:D:D

well the add in the paper says
Contrast Ratio 70 000:1
and Response Time 2ms

the 2494HS is 5ms and 50 0000:1

I'm sure if u ask (complain :p ) they must give you the advertised one.

You actually believe that though? I'm sorry but this dynamic contrast stuff is rubbish.

That is nonsense. Every staff member we asked had a different story regarding the stock of these monitors. The manager said they expect it next week. The other staff members all said anything from yesterday afternoon until sometime next week...

Welcome to retail.

I saw in the paper last night IC have a 24' Acer going for R1999 with a 80 000:1 contrast ratio. Actually looks like nice monitor.

I actually contacted 702 after Game pulled a similar ploy twice - with a generator and a circular saw. They were on an unbelievable special but there was never any stock (in any branch in the country!) and like you, the staff members all had different excuses. 702 never got back to me, but I am thinking that if enough people complain they will hopefully investigate what seems like a cheap tactic to get people into the Game stores on false pretenses!

I'm convinced of the same...Must have happened to me at least 3 times already. Vacuum Cleaner, pressure washer, etc. Somehow there's never stock.

Yeah I find it unreal how they can run a special and only deliver 3 - 5 units per store. I mean seriously that is just stupid. I even asked the one chop at Fourways game why they only getting 3 screens, surely you should be supplying way more than that. He was very rude to me. Anyway.

Actually it is quite clever, but very unethical.

They put a ridiculously cheap price on an item, advertise it in a large brochure and make a loss on selling one or two below cost (that is if they ever even had stock at all). This is a modest price to pay for the added amount of foot traffic and resultant sales on other items they get by luring people into the stores with these so called "specials"

not to mention all the advertising they get on forums like this

Doesn't Game give an IOU slip promising to honour the price when they do get stock ?

Unless they specify "while stocks last" as on this brochure

Did they expressly tell you that they cannot give you a call-back voucher for this product as they had stipulated "while stocks last"?

All their leaflets mention "While stocks last", yet I have received vouchers from them dozens of times and have never had my request for one refused.

game

Game had a special on gates, so i sent my bro to buy one for me.
Bro came back with a plain white gate that was different from the one in the ad. Ad gate was grey and had fancy patterns. bro told me salesman said thats the one they had on special, it was the same price as the one in the paper, so all seemed good. Until....

the very next week, game had the plain white gate which i bought, on special for 30% less than what I paid.

The salesman at game told us that they guarantee the price for 21 days. If you buy something and it is on special the next week, you can go back and they will refund the difference, even if it is cheaper somewhere else during the 21 days.. Just bought a fridge and they gave us this guarantee.
