Damn that's a good price! Now I'm disappointed that I just bought 2x WD GreenPower 750GB drives for R1680 ea.

Seagate® Barracuda™ 7200.11 Series - 750GB Serial ATA II (SATA2) Plus - Serial ATA 300 (3Gbps) With 32MB Cache @ 7200RPM - NCQ - http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/product_info.php?products_id=14590
Was R1659. Now only R1504! (Cheapest I can find it so far, elsewhere, is R1610) Get it while it's hot! [Excl. Delivery]
R300 odd cheaper than Prophecy, but don't pcint do it for around the same price? I have never heard of these okes...
Owner of site is also one of the dealer in systemshock. Runs specials from time to time.
Cool beans. Sounds good to me. Do you know about those flash drives and SD cards though? They seem way too cheap to be very good...?
I bought the 4gb flash drive for R149.
Seems decent.
I ran a small "speed test" comparing it with my Sahara 2gb flash drive.
Copied a 95mb folder containing 575 pictures, to each drive.
It took 116 secs to the Ginigin 4gb and 242 secs to the Sahara 2gb.
Sorry, only have Sahara.
Are there any Flash drive tests, that I could try?
hi guys
i bought a 500gig WD 19mb cache sata2 drive on bidorbuy last year for R950. To my amazement when i opened it, i could believe my luck. got a brand new WD 750gig sata one and still running.
im looking for laptop ram for my Sony Vaio PCG-K215M. It uses Infineon PC2100S-2033-0-A1 DDR266,CL2 ram. Where can i find them in 512mb or 1gig sticks. will it work or make a difference if i use ddr400 or ddr333.

I bought a 750Gig WD Hard Drive for R1100 on BidorBuy 3 weeks ago. Its brand new with a guarantee.
BTW the Seagate I bought from a connection from FrontoSA arrived today, but on the sticker it says Seagate, manufacturer for OEM?? Is that legit or not?
How do you mean the sticker? As for FrontoSA selling OEM products in the retail channel being legit would depend on Seagate's policy and if they would actually enforce said policy if they found out.
The actual big sticker on the Hard drive which includes the S/N and jumper instruction also reads something like 'this drive was manufacturered for OEM purposes.......'
Ah, well haven't looked at Seagate drives in a while and I have no idea what their policy's are but I know some of the local dealers are very dodge, selling products in the retail channel that contain stickers that clearly state: "This product may not be sold in retail channel, OEM ONLY!" or something similar so it wouldn't surprise me.
You can look on the Seagate webpage but even if you find out what are you going to do?
In SA anything goes with the dealers, reseller model is stupid anyway.
As long as they (FrontoSA) can and will honour the 5 year warranty.
I doubt they wouldn't but the problem comes in when/if they close down and liquidate then you're screwed.
