If you're buying the 3TB to use as an internal (R1366) it doesn't seem much cheaper than buying the 2TB internal (R968) where you still get a warrantee.

The 3TB a few weeks back for R1000 at Game was a good deal though.

EDIT: Its also exactly the same price as buying the internal 3TB from esquire, and then you get a warrantee too.

good luck with that warranty from esquire ... had a drive fail on me and they said it was out of warranty .. even though the drive has a 3 year warranty, they claimed it only had 2 from them ... so yeah ... just make sure about the fine print when dealing with esquire ;)

There was a thread relating a similar story for a seagate drive.

Check the manufacturers website, if still in warranty there, take it to rectron with the proof of warranty.

Not cool. And not the first time i've heard of issues. But I haven't had a problem yet.

Also, I've never had a drive fail on me since my 486, so even no warrantee would be fine if the price is right.

Makro has 3TB Seagate Freeagent external drives for R1399 this weekend. I'm very tempted to get another one (bought one a few months back) but I actually need internal 3TB drives more. Need to start replacing all those 1TB drives in all my machines.

Anyone know who currently has the best pricing on 3TB internal drives?

Add R300 more and get the 4TB from incredible Connection ?

Came across this special in our local newspaper yesterday.
I called them today to find out that they did honour the price but they ran out of stock yesterday morning :(.

The question is, when things go wrong, can you rely on the supplier to support you ... in my case, I found out I could not!!
So I am much more careful about buying stuff these days, and checking the warranty, etc. :) ...
school fees, we all pay them ... even when we not in school :)

International shipping?

Amazon ships those products directly to SA without a problem. They show the landed price for the 32GB microSD as $38.84 incl customs etc etc - not bad imo when compared to the cheapest option locally at about R390 excluding delivery.

Cool ordered some class 10-- 32GB Ultra microSD cards that work out to about R330 each. Not bad.

They were just over R200 at Esquire last year around this time.

For a 32gb class 4 probably? Have a ~R260 noted on my side at just a tad over a year ago from esquire.

Cheapest 32gb class 10 at this stage is about ~R260.
Cheapest 32gb UHS-I Class 10 at this stage is about ~R287.
Cheapest 32gb UHS-I Class 10 Sandisk at this stage is about ~R390.
Excl delivery of course.
