hahahahaha!!!! I reckon 23.6 or thereabouts is about as big as you really want to go anyway. Anything more becomes too big. It's an optimal price for the optimal screen. Perfect time to buy.

I think I could make tow 26s work...

But the prices of the 23.6s make three of them a better option :eek:

10 days too early give or take... otherwise I'd have bought 3 of them...

I thought about opening it to see if i can pop a 500Gb in, but there is a nice little "Void if removed" sticker.
It will most probably be a 3.5"
EDIT: Its really not that slimline or light. Cant see why they would go 2.5" if space and weight was not an issue.

All the LG DVD Recorders I've owned had a 3.5" HDD - you can fit a 2.5" if you desire a quieter HT setup...

Based on their optical drive failure rates, you're more likely to break the void seal yourself and replace - much easier and cheaper (and quicker) !

I also had optical failure... The reader still works (with older dvds) but the writer has gone to heaven (or perhaps hell?).

Is this a widespread issue?

Only VAT REGISTERED companies MAY publish VAT INCLUDED pricing

Why?

Non VAT registered companies are NOT VAT collectors for SARS, they just pay the VAT .....so showing VAT inclusive prices will actually be illegal.

You MUST show all prices VAT inclusive....Its the law?

Says who from what planet?

..All dealer prices are always shown EX VAT for example....:p

I'm not too clued up on the laws you've mentioned but if your site quotes ex vat prices and your customers don't get that ex vat price when they buy something from you, it's rubbish!

PCZone used to only advertise their cash prices and got into heaps of *** for it. Now they have to advertise both prices or specify that it's a cash only offer.

It's misleading/false advterising for a customer to think they're gonna pay one price and end up paying another

I do. I'm from planet earth. All prices must be VAT incl. If you are not VAT Registered, duh, don't include it. Kinda logical. We just want to see the final price a client pays, if you are VAT registered or not. That is what we mean with All prices needs to be VAT Incl.

If you are not registered for VAT, then excluding VAT or including VAT doesn't apply because you can't charge VAT. So price you quote is the price the customer pays.

Seems to be very common on the LG set-top dvd players/recorders - not sure about their PC DVD drives.

I repaalced my last one two weeks ago @ R500 for the optival drive unit, so I bought 2 as I know it will die in the next year... the first one I replaced (13 months from new) cost R800+ to replace, so at least the replacement cost is dropping year-by-year! Still cheaper than buying another top-end model :p
