Well if you turn out to be reputable (
) your prices are the best I have seen for a while. And at least I won't have to pay in body parts at IC 
im not saying your service is bad eitai, i have heard nothing but good things from you guys, just andy kinda beat you to it with the suppliers

Yep USB powered; no real preferences on the brand but something reliable.
I'm going to use the drive for backing up my laptop (and possibly my sisters as well) and for trying out some other linux distros [my laptop is already dual booted with Vista and Ubuntu].
My laptop has a 120 Gb HDD and the last back up on dvd took about 8Gb.

Hmmm, ok.
Have not considered USB-powered 3.5" drives before really. I have heard bad things about USB-powered ones killing mobos and stuff, but I am not sure if that is all to be believed - specially if you get a decent enclosure...
Only thing with Prophecy is that shipping is only free for orders over R1000, so that might be worth taking into account as well...

Just did some digging through pricelists and managed to find a slightly cheaper price on my 250GB Seagate 8mb cache SATA2 ... price at 559 ... not much, but it helps
Wish I knew where they were getting their stuff from... unless they selling it at cost.

Oh ... while we're on the topics of hard drives ... I have a Seagate 160gb Freeagent Go that I need to sell ... this was for the customer that expected me to figure out she was at my gate without phoning me (guard didn't buzz??). I have already bought it and paid, and will be charged handling fee if I return it, so I am trying to sell it ... my cost on it is R886, and this is what I am selling it for ... please PM me if you want it. I asked Bwana if I could post this earlier ... he never replied ... which means he didn't say no ...

Don't like the classifieds here very much ...I only put my card there as a last resort ... and its brand new still sealed with full 1 year guarantee, so I figured it could pass as a hardware bargain

But he is right, those online shops are very good and well known. By all means deal with them.
I personally don't offer an online shop. I'd rather deal one to one with the customer and offer full attentiveness than expect them to order without direct consultation. Each to their own.
I find it easier to order online because you can get a good idea of what's out there before you buy

I would. They always have nice prices and the queries I had in the past was answered rather quickly. Still have to test them though.
