Nah, I agree with News24. This thread was stickied because it was usefull and informative. If you saw a new post in the thread you were guaranteed of a good price on hardware.

Now you have to sift through 3 pages of crap before you get to anything usefull.

If you wanna have a tea party, take it to Off-Topic.
 
Put simply: I disagree.

This thread (which I started), was never intended to by a place where people JUST post good prices with no discussion at all. What is the point of that?

But I still think that the discussions do not add value to the thread.

Haha, not claiming ownership. Just trying to explain the existence of, and stickying of the thread.

I agree that too many comments can detract, but if they are related to the bargain posted, which they often are, then they are definitely of value to everyone. :)
 
Yeah, but come on, don't you also think that 4 pages worth of "Kalahari.net screwed me over because they made a mistake" is a little excessive?

And mocking News24 for voicing his opinion was unneccessary...

But sorry if you still feel my comments were unfair. I'll still use the thread, as it is very usefull, will just have to keep sifting through the crap. :)

Haha, well that would have been the bargain of all bargains, were it true, so I think the posts were justified.

As for News24, I think some users took offence at the tone of his comment more than anything.

There is not too much crap to sift through...

Cept for these last few posts...;)
 
Suggestion

ok, how about as a suggestion to help highlight the specials in amongst a little bit of chatter, we have a standard image (or ascii star) highlighting the actual post with the special, like this example? will make it much easier at a glance to see the special, and allows for a little bit of discussion around the special?
 
LOL @ two pages of discussion, discussing the point that nothing should be discussed on this thread!
 
This thread has lost all its usefulness, I propose it be "unstickied" and moved to the Off-Topic section.

Now how would that be practical? A bargain for you might not be a bargain for me. And in any case, things change so quickly, a bargain now might not be a bargain the next day...
