Are you guys cooling those drives? Are they perhaps not just overheating?
++1 for that - just had one of my brand new Samsung 1TB's die again, after 10 days use and the fourth replacement by Kalahari - luckily I hadn't copied anything of value to it, only about 260GB of backup data...
Back to WD for me...
I'd also heard good things about them - now I'm certain I won't be buying again.
One ad-hoc failure I can live with, but after 4 returns of 2x 1TB drives with the same failures, I'm too hesitant to replace again.
Just as I thought, the Samsungs cant be trusted.
