Sounds like a good deal. The P series are not that easy to come by in the local shops. And the P2450H is about R2099.

It is part of a trade-in special. Just take any old monitor and they will give you R800 off the normal price. Same goes for any other hardware.:)

I also bought one of these at Makro and so far no problems. It does have a slight lag however as it spins up to speed again after not being accessed for a while. I can live with that however if it saves electricity and extends the life of the drive.

What other monitors are available in the trade-in special? When does the special end?

Yeah it seems they are running the trade in specials again like they did last year when I got my T260. Any other specials on the trade-in ? Linky to their ad perhaps?

Edit: FFS the website is useless in this regard, the upgrade link for the upgrade leads nowhere, and soooo slow.

There is a small advert on the bottom of their home page saying it's available for February only:)

Holy crud, can I take in an old 15" CRT and get R800 off that screen?
 
Correct, it does not even have to be working. They donate them to charity I believe, so it's better if it is working. They did this last Feb too.

So regardless of the size and quality of monitor you will only get R800?
I want to trade in my 22" LCD for a 26" or something.. bt if i only get R800 its not worth it :/
 
That's great news, I have a partially function 17" LCD which is worth less than R800. (it makes a vertical green stripe about 2" thick on the display)

Correct on your first point, R800 regardless.

Won't be worth it to trade in your 22" LCD, rather sell that privately, then go beg or borrow an old CRT from a friend or family member as trade in on a new one, and you're sorted.
 
I spoke to a salesman. You get up to a R800 depending what monitor you choose to buy from them:D
