Those prices certainly aren't bad at all...

Anybody know what those Toshiba externals from Game are like? Also, if anyone's bought one, are you able to open the cases and stick other drives in if you want? I know the Seagate desk ones are "sealed" units. Thanks.

It's possible but you need to break the warranty sticker and remove some screws. Kinda pointless to swap the internal drive unless it fails outside the warranty period, you'd be better off buying an enclosure on its own and adding an internal HDD. The Toshiba drive is solid, much better build quality than the Verbatim drive IMO (I have both)

Also got the same mouse but as a free gift from the fire sale at DigitalAddiction.

Bit late, but I wouldn't recommend those. I've had one of them (still in a cupboard somewhere) and they don't last long. Quite a few of us got one each a corporate function, and most of us had to superglue it simply to keep it together...

Thanks D4N!

Have you had the Toshiba for a while? Trying to decide if I should buy another Seagate desktop external or go for the Toshiba Game special. Any opinions?

I bought the 500Gb version 2 years ago. The enclosure is the identical to the one in the ad and it contains a WD drive (not sure if this is still the case). I've had no problems with it at all. However these days I would only consider external drives with an eSATA connection too. I see you're in KZN, maybe check out Zones as well, as their prices are insanely cheap.

Yip, have bought from PC Zone before, excellent prices. Thanks very much for the replies and opinions.
