Trojan warning on that link...

yeah there's some funny script pointing to .cz.cc website! Good price but bad website management

They(Uniterm Direct) are selling the TP LINK WR1043ND for R569 on bidorbuy or expansys sell some TP-link equipment but not that AP but they do have a DD-WRT wireless-N compatible router for R224.99

EDIT:- Microbits.co.za also seems to stock some TP-link APs

Thanks for the response, don't wanna go to the link as it might infect this work pc...
What router was it and for how much?

Are any of these routers from Esquire good? http://www.esquire.co.za/specials/2011_05_23Wireless_Special.html

P.s. I'm in CPT, so would rather be able to walk in somewhere to get it...

It was a TP LINK WR1043ND from Uniterm Direct at R549 its R569 from them at bidorbuy. TP-Link make dirt-cheap fairly reliable network equipment google the products I linked above for reviews and you'll find a few posts in this forum to about them.

The asus router are good and all three the N12 N13u and N16 are supported by DD-WRT if you want to get maximum value from them.

P.S.- This is a bargain thread, theory behind it find a bargain then post it not the other way round. Start a separate thread for your specific need.

TP-Link does carry two year warranty, so I'd say that's good value for money.
You can also load DD-WRT on the router, or they'll do it for you for R50.

IMO Uniterm Direct is selling bargains, because in essence they're doing what Esquire is also doing.
I was looking for a signal strength booster when I came across them (bought a 8DBi antenna for R59 to replace the standard 3DBi ones you get with all routers / modems)

Sorry my post came of the wrong way, am all for TP-link great value for money! The posts he'll find here on mybroadband and reviews will say the same. If you look at the R224.99 router I linked to before was also a TP-link from expansys and it got positive reviews as well (besides it being wireless N-lite 150Mbps)

NO!!
That CPU is super slow, and I would never purchase a lappy with only Home BASIC - Having no ability to upgrade your ram to 4GB or your Windows to 64bit is a no-go.
It will cost you another R700 or so to upgrade, and rather using R4000 to purchase a laptop with a better version Windows will get you better specs too.

Can you do better for the same price? /btw you don't need to run windows on it. ;)

Home basic 64-bit can use up to 8GB of RAM and the Celeron T3500 is more than decent for most tasks, not at all like the Celerons of old. I agree that it would be better to spend just a bit more though.

LENOVO G550 T3500 320 GB R2999.95

I don't know about that place, but an online friend of mine bought 5x HD5870's last week for R799 each (directly from the supplier), so that price is most definitely possible...

Yup R1017 at NGR so the price is definitely possible

Probably the 32bit version though as it doesn't state which
It says based on LinuxUK at the bottom. Looks dodgy but phone them ...maybe
