Would the 5870 fit in the CM Storm Scout?
I heard those 5870 can be very hot.

You should generally give the higher end cards a miss if you have the CM Scout.

And the 5870 is high end now how? ;)

EDIT: Ignore me, my brain saw 4870. I am busy removing my foot from my mouth.

I have a scout, and from memory, it depends on what MOBO you have, and which slots you put your HD in.

I have a 460, which fits very comfortably, so from memory, I don't see why the 5870 shouldnt, if you move your HD's up and down to leave a gap (which you would do anyway to assist with cooling).

Na, it's the entire HDD housing that gets in the way...

Pretty sure the 5870 is longer than the GTX460. ;)

which suppliers/vendors in the gauteng area are still selling the 5870's or even 5850's?
we have a very specific project and it has to be those cards

Create a separate thread for that! You'll get more help and IF you find some Bargains come post them here!

This falls under "Hardware Ripoffs" but it's so funny I had to post it here. Audiovision's cheapest 1.8m HDMI 1.4 cable: R1,200! LOL

Now the bargain at HD Cabling. 1.8m HDMI 1.4 cable (gold plated): R75!

Just a heads up, I bought a "demo" unit of the fat PS3 last year. Ran my butt off to get it as there was only 1 left at the Rosebank branch, only to get home and find it dead as a do-do.

Took it back they didn't have any more so I had to get my cash back. Was bleak.

I don't trust those demo units.

I'm not surprised. Don't they run all day in the stores? That's quite a bit of wear and tear
