thanx , i know about those cheap 3d monitors they all 60hz :(

Actaully could not care less about the 3d, i just want cheap 120hz display :P

Why do you want 120hz if not for 3D? Honest, just curious question?

I used the 3D on this thing ONCE. And that was when I got it. Not impressed THB. Got a 3D LG TV too.. Also only used the 3D once.

There isn't a cheap 120hz display on the market that I know of. It's a pity I totally agree, 120hz is much more important than 3d.

Because then your desktop and gaming framerates can go above 60fps. And your eyes can tell a difference, believe me.

Tested 120hz and 60hz on samsung sa950 , it made quite a difference .

Yes. I game on a 100hz TV from my PC and going back to gaming on the PC LCD monitor just feels slow.

Makro is selling the 24" Sony 3D led for R1999,normal price R4000. Bought one yesterday and its very very nice, plus its 240hz.

Yeah - density would likely have an effect. I do think they are different... or at least I know they have been in the past - 5400's going into externals and 7200's for internal. It might not even be noticeable. Q is - why are desktop drives so expensive when compared with externals then?

Just for info's sake - Verbatim USB drive is picked up as ST3000DM - looks like its a 64mb 7200rpm drive :) (based on 2 minutes of googling... so may be wrong)

Improved (subjectively) UI snappiness, better mouse tracking, higher V-Sync limit in games (or, if the fancy takes you, playing without V-Sync, unless its Skyrim) and in general a monitor that's above 60Hz just feels and works a real treat. I overclocked my monitor to 75Hz and it was a noticeable change.

Mitabyte quoted me R1899 for the LG D234P-BN 23" 3D LED IPS Monitor. Is that a good buy or should I just go for the equivalent Sammy 23" LED?

I'm thinking of upgrading my 4 year old PC.
Looking for an i7 3770.

So far PC zones pricing looks good but they are in DBN. http://www.zones.co.za/
Is there any place in Jhb that has similar pricing? Should I get a SSD?

You can get a pre-built system with same specs from Esquire for cheaper.

I worked out a price using mostly the cheapest components and it comes to over R6K including vat vs R5.6K at Zones.

And what's zones prices to get it to you? Plus the safety and plus the hassle free from local

Wait. Did you ask Esquire for a quote on a total system instead of having it built up bit by bit?

Getting it from Pc Zone is not a problem. I travel to Dbn often for business.
I would prefer buying it from someone local though.

I built up the system using the price list from their site.

Would requesting a quote make a difference to the pricing?
