Will you please let me know if it can handle NTFS drives? My dad has an old blu-ray player that can't handle NTFS...so quite useless to me :p

Yes it does, tried a 500gb external usb 3.0 with no power source which worked, also tried a 2TB USB 2.0 external with power, and it also worked. Plays 10GB had files with no issues and my dad seems happy with it. The previous 5100 we took back after 6 days, so lets see how long the 5500 holds out.

Yes it can. On my 3rd Samsung Smart Tv and all of them handled my 2TB external. And yes it outputs 5.1
Hooked up to my 1000RMS samsung surround system and works like charm. Just remember some rips are 2.0 but then your sound system will kick in and convert it.

Cool thanks for the info :)

Afaik most tvs output stereo sound, so you amp etc has to make 5.1 from that stereo input
Not sure if anything has changed but thats how it was before

Im looking for an ultrabook for my SO. It must have a FHD display. According to that site the LENOVO X240 has a FHD display, but Googling shows that it not FHD. Can anyone confirm or recommend something similar.
Budget is around R12k.
