mmm, very tempted for the usb port, wonder how well it'll function if I connect an external to it and use it with my new apple tv to server media to the TV?

The USB ports on these things are often quite useless unfortunately. I can't speak for the ASUS directly, but normally the cores on these can only handle up to about 4Mbps, MAX.

Damn, tested it on TP-Link at work and you 100% correct, most I got was 5MB/s

Have a TP-Link, D-Link and a Telkom router with USB and my experience was the same.

The only thing the USB port is useful for is 3G failover and connecting a printer that doesn't have built in network functionality to the network.

But it seems you can't checkout. Either the PS4s for R3999 are finished or it was all a mistake to begin with.

You mean it successfully added to cart but failed at checkout?

Hi Guys, Im shopping for an adsl router. I found this one
http://www.takealot.com/asus-dsl-n14u-wireless-adsl-router/PLID38535024
I really want to have at least 2 vlan's on there on it seems in this routers case broadcast 2 seperate ssid's (from the description it seems the same). My budget is more or less R700. Can anyone tell me whether this is a good deal?
Hello, are you in a hurry? I paid R489.00 for it two months ago. Router is not bad , but as mentioned a few posts earlier the tp link one is faster when streaming

About 50% of the Asus networking products I've dealt with have been/become faulty.

That aside, modem/routers aren't worth skimping on. Go for this TP-Link, very good one with excellent range - http://www.dbg.co.za/product_info.php?cPath=55_57_159_163&products_id=894.

You also get a 5% MyBb discount. Pricing is excl VAT.

I will have a look at this one as well, looks good but might be a bit out of my price range. Thanks for the help, it seems if I want to satisfy my needs I need to fork out some more
