WD passports have low life expectancy
Link, perhaps?

I once forgot a WD passport plugged into my laptop. Hibernated, closed the lid and quite hurriedly picked up the laptop to pack into a bag. The sound of an external HDD bouncing along the floor is not a nice one. I still use the drive to this day (almost 2 years later). It's earned its keep in my books.

I would never buy hardware goods, fulfilled by Takealot, from other companies. Your recourse in the event of warranty issues is much worse.

Never had a problem with takealot. They always honour their 6 months warranty and if it has an extended supplier warranty they also honour that and collect it free for replacement

My romoss 7800mah failed after 10 months and had it replaced without any problems.

3 unboxed items were delivered today, all good and 55% off. WIN!

A good tip is to go check your watchlist, the 3 items were previously sold out and then whatdoyouknow back in stock and marked down, noticed some other items in stock now had unboxed deals available.

Good tip, but my wishlist is nappies, baby wipes and formula. Not keen to risk unboxed.....

Got 3 unboxed deals delivered yesterday, all were in perfect condition (including a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 speakers), very happy to buy unboxed deals based on this.

As long as the customer knows that Takealot only fulfils the warranty for 6 months, and that the rest is up to the other shop/retailer. So, the customer should not expect Takealot's legendary service after 6 months. Yes, Takealot will handle the shipping.

please see feedback from takealot around warranty with supplier post 6 months

Sorry for not clarifying that in my previous mail, the extract was taken straight from the returns policy on this page:
http://www.takealot.com/help/exchange-return-policy
However to clarify, The unboxed deals are not covered by any extended warranty due to the fact that the seal/packaging has already been opened before the order was placed. I apologize for the confusion.
