Hardware Bargains

Anyone know of a good deal on a Xbox one wireless controller?

This is most probably not the correct place to ask, but..

TakeAlot has an unboxed deal on the Dell P2717H 27" FHD LED Monitor @ R2830, which sounds like a complete bargain.
If the monitor is not in perfect condition, I can always return it.

The question though, comes in with the warranty.
Dell has 3 years warranty on these monitors.
TakeAlot only gives 6 months on unboxed deals.

As per Dell's website: 3-Year Advanced Exchange Service and Premium Panel Guarantee

I phoned TakeAlot to get clarity on this, and spoke to a manager.
According to her, TakeAlot and Dell does communicate before TakeAlot resell the returned item, and Dell will not honour the warranty.

Anyone has any info on this?

You should be able to do a lookup using the serial number on the Dell website to see if it still has any warranty? You'll have to deal with Dell directly after the 6 months has passed if it's still covered.

I don't mind dealing with Dell directly.
I am worried that they do a serial number lookup on their side, and say no warranty.

The SE2717H is R2999, was on special for R2899 yesterday.

I ordered both. Need to decide which one to pay...
Go brand new. I purchased my 24" Dell monitor from Takealot last year and it is way better than the LG and Samsung's in the same price range.

How do you order without paying on checkout since takealot removed the old school eft payment option?

I highly doubt Dell will have the manpower or inclination to update their system for a single unit that was returned to a 3rd party retailer, they'll check the warranty via the serial and if its covered its good to go.

MIA are running some Christmas deals on the Redmi 2 Pro for R800... R1000 with Power Bank.

Purchasing is a 2 step process.
After you checkout, the item is bought.
The next step is payment, I just stop there.
Order then shows pending payment.

Mmm. SE2717H vs P2717H that is my dilemma. With the unboxed deal both were the same price, but the P range is actually much more expensive.

Ok. So I contacted Dell support.
They confirmed that even if I buy the monitor second hand from TakeAlot, the warranty from Dell is still valid.
I don't know if the guy understood my question though, seems I was talking to some American somewhere.

I am going to buy the unboxed deal and check the warrany online and also call them again.
If the monitor is not in perfect condition, or for some reason the warranty is not valid, I will just return it.

Sorry for the thread derail.
