Ordered something last year September. Left there, never arrived in SA. Been asked to wait for a few weeks for shipping - but with our postal situation backlog, I don't expect to get it anytime soon :/ I get the impression that they are quite willing to give a refund - and if the buyer refuses, Alibaba will force it from them

Aliexpress is more geared towards single item buys while the Alibaba arm of the business is geared towards more bulk(ier) business buys. They are second only to ebay when it comes to protecting the buyer. As always read up and check out the seller as you would on ebay!

I ordered a few items from eBay last year over September - October and I haven't received any of them yet.
Last week I received an order which I placed in December. I think the parcels that arrived in SA while the postal strike was on can be written off
