Still fail to understand why they can't send a text with ETA. Finally got hold of the courier and arranged to meet while he was enroute to another location....
While chatting to him his original delivery time was supposed to be before 10.30 so they were late. Seems a very unorganized delivery process. If I had not met him then it would have to Monday but only after scheduling with their office. Seems like quiet a waste of time considering cost of a sms.

What does this mean? That you don't want an 'LCD'?
An 'LED' is an LCD, one uses LED backlighting and the other, the older CCFL backlighting. But both are LCDs. Calling newer ones "LEDs" is like calling the older ones "CCFLs", it doesn't make sense.
There is no such thing as an LED monitor/TV etc. unless you're referring to an LED display.
What you should be stating is your budget and intended use, TN vs IPS panel, etc.
Please do not contribute to the marketing gimmick which leads people to believe LED-LCDs are something entirely different, they're not.

People calling LED back-lit displays LED displays is a pet peeve of myself as well though.

OLED deserves its name though, it is truly deserving of the 'LED' term. Like plasma, it does not use a backlight, the fundamental flaw of all CCFL-LCD and LED-LCD screens. As we know, this leads to better black levels and contrast ratio, which is ultimately what determines picture quality.

LED Backlighting
I've had bad experiences with discolouring due to dimming from cheap LCD CCFL Backlights, that's why I prefer the LED Backlighting Z

Could you please elaborate on dimming? Over time, flicker, or what? Various models?
Basically after about a year of use, the monitors started warming up in colour (whites would be tinged yellow etc), as well as becoming dimmer. It could just the monitors I've owned, but that's my experience with them.
That's why I prefer LED backlighting, as it doesn't change colour at all!

I must have been very lucky then.
At home.
- LCD backlit LG monitor. Lasted me 6 years, and that was after I bought it second hand! I then gave it to my GF's parents. They still use it. No issues with wrong colors on warmup or first turn on. Still has perfect image, same as the day I got it.
- Sony Bravia 2 TV. It still looks as amazing as the day I got. Sure it doesn't look nearly as awesome as the LED backlit ones nowadays, but for it's age...amazing. It is now 6 years old.
At work.
3x pretty old Samsung LCD backlit monitors. Pretty sure their age is now at around 5 years all of them. Of the 3, only 1 looks funny when it turns on or return from sleep, but the bad colors only last for like 3 seconds then it looks the same as the other 2. It could be that I am using it on a MBP instead of a desktop PC like the other 2. Who knows.
Going by the above, LCD backlit monitors aint that bad, and has at least 5-6 year life span where they still work.
When buying my TV, it was stated that it can last in perfect working condition for a minimum of 7 years, if you keep it on 24/7. I worked out, that it should last me then at least 10 years for normal home use. I will replace it when it breaks.

Look to be honest, LCD CCFL ain't bad, but LED backlit monitors definitely look better. I can't argue that. My latest monitor at home is LED backlit, and I can clearly see the difference. My LCD CCFL backlit monitors still work, so no point in replacing, and they work good. In the future however I do see myself buying LED backlit over LCD CCFL backlit however.
It almost sure indicate faulty CCFL. It can fail anytime, but grace period can be many years.
Other thing is limited brightnes adjustment. And what people frequently don't realise, lower brightness gives lower lifetime. Strange, isn't? Colour shift also happens at lower brightnes especially when CCFL is worn.
On the positive side color reproduction is better, due to the uniform spectrum, but LED technology is constantly improving.

I've questioned this myself - but just came to the conclusion that if we know how these things are disappearing - we will be able to secure ourselves better. It's also just another layer of security for the others in the household
