I did on Saturday. They had a few lenses and some appliances on special. No electronics, computers, tv's. So a complete disappointment considering that most of their products are anyway priced more expensive than other stores. This was at cedar branch.

When you've promotions/clearance of demo stock staff always will get preferential treatment first or tell their buddies about it..

Kind of reminds me of a Game Store closing down on a Saturday. All demo stock 50 % tv went flying out of the store. Massive queue like 100 people running for a tv.. They also had notebooks - the staff member kept it for her boyfriend(bought them all).. Apple products, cellphones, appliances etc. Demo stock. .

Same at the Cavendish branch when I checked on Friday.

Weirdly makes you appreciate IC, they at least put their demo stock online.

If you keep an eye on their Twitter and Facebook account. Sometimes they incredible snap deals for certain Stores.. The problem with buying demo notebooks could possibly faulty.

I bought a notebook from them and know of member who bought the other notebook. BOTH same models. Out of the box his notebook faulty fan and my notebook faulty back light and dead pixel.. The stupid technical told me they problematic models. If that was the case surely they would have recalled the models.

Yeah I remember that whole deal.. caused a massive stink if I remember.

I wonder if MassMart have implemented a policy in relation to this type of thing now though.

Was looking for a cheap way for my dad to watch some media, his 75. First bought a Samsung F5100 last week and returned it yesterday because of a faulty USB input and decided to cash out. Now ordering the upgraded blu ray player, Samsung H5500 3d from Kalahari: Kalahari Link at R969.

Then used this promo code to get a further R75 off: kalaharicloudMar15

Total cost: R894

R50 more expensive than the 5100, but R200 less than it costs at Takealot.

Was also looking into this, but then came to the conclusion that the time has well and truly passed for watching media on physical discs with the associated headaches like region-blocking (which this player is).

I think they bought a crap load of stuff at verbatim's garage sale
