^^, the Asus router is a good deal...only a couple hundred more than Amazon's dollar price converted to Rands.

It isn't RAS since he is a registered dealer / rep as per the username tag. I am surprised this wasn't apparent upon viewing the post :p. Esquire has advertised in this topic aswell as others.

Anyone purchased the ChromeCast v2.0 from Takealot? Itching to get it but waiting for funds :).

I might be wrong, but I don't think Dealers are allowed to post in Hardware Bargains. Dealers have their own section.

I don't really heave an issue with it as long as what they post is an actual bargain.

Like you said, Esquire posts in this thread every now and then.

But now you must also define what a bargain is. I can tell you for instance I can offer you a Xiaomi Mi Wifi Router with Dual Bands Gigabit WiFi and Bulit-in 1TB Mobile Hard Disk for lets say R2000. Now that price sounds good. But now you get the same thing at a different dropshipper for R1800, now it's not a bargain anymore, now it's just more expensive. maybe that laptop was a bargain, but since takealot have access to a warehouse or have their own warehouse that imports these units by the thousands takealot can offer it just that much cheaper, my 2 cents.

I don't disagree with this and i do not think you are wrong. :) I just wanted to say that the user in question wasn't a random spambot like we had one this morning. As far as deals, they should come to appreciate what we look for when we post in this thread :p.

@DLComputer - A bargain here would be one that if you don't check in here on time and it is below dealer cost or a "mistake" but 5-100+ have bought it then that is a bargain. There will always be a site that matches or is cheaper than prices quoted but generally speaking, it is also about how fast you can get it here [support + warranty also a factor] :).

If you have the 1st gen, I would suggest holding off.

I just got the v2.0 last week and now I regret it, because the only thing that you gain with the new one is a 2-3 second performance boost.

If you don't have the old one, I would give it a thumbs up, especially when combining it with a Plex media server.

Also, remember that it plays better with Android than with iOS.

I was a bit underwhelmed with V1.0 on Plex, however maybe I'll get V2.0 if its better :)
