Any good wired headphones available to buy at a brick and mortar store? Mum is going in to hospital this week and would like to get a pair for her to use for her stay there. Needs to have 3.5mm support though :)

What's the price, I had a similar set of LG bt headphones, the earbud cable is so thin many people have issues with it breaking and with my pair the range was beyond pathetic I literally almost had to hold the phone not further than arms length and with line of sight, in my pocket was too much, audio breaks up.

Worst buy ever.

I ended up getting a reasonably priced Polaroid set - nothing mindblowing but it should do the trick for a few days. It was only R130, and it has an inline mic which is somewhat of a bonus. I don't see the folks having a use for it so I will probably keep it as a backup here if the quality is OK enough
 
Thinking of getting this R229
Looks awesome and seems to accommodate all phones sizes

It seems like it has a very limited application of games it works one. From all indicators it's not a good choice. Passing, but thanks for the link.
 
Good price though, those things used to be rather pricey. I'd buy one if the buttons could controlled normal things like like scroll down/up etc, handy for when I use my phone to read repair manuals, holds the phone and I can look through the manual with gloves or with dirty hands
