Over the years I have aqcuired a lot of PC hardware that is now sitting and literally not being used, so I am thinking that despite certain sentimental attachments, I should start clearing it out.

I am gonna post all the stuff here so you guys can say what, if anything I would be able to sell the stuff for, otherwise I would look to either holding onto it a bit longer or donating some stuff to a worth cause. :)

Here goes...

1 x Pentium 3 box
Age: 8 years
Contents:
1 x Generic Tower case (grey and tall)
1 x P3 733MHZ CPU
1 x Motherboard with two onboard USB ports
1 x 128MB PC133 RAM
1 x 20GB HDD (still working fine!)
1 x PCI 10/100 LAN card
1 x PCI sound card
1 x LG CD Writer (4 years old)
1 x Sony DVD-ROM (4 years old)
1 x 300W PSU (bought 2 years ago - used rarely)
1 x Voodoo GFX card, 16MB - displays at decent res on a 20" LCD :)
--> Still runs Windows XP quite nicely :)

GFX cards:

1 x MSI 9250 128MB GFX card (AGP) Age: 2 years

1 x GeForce FX5200 128MB GFX card (AGP) Age: Two years

Monitors:

1 x 14 or 15" CRT. Age - old
1 x 17" CRT , beige, large, aged 8 years
1 x 17" CRT, black, aged 4 years

Speakers:

1 x Genius SW-Flat-1250 2.1 speakers, black( two slim speakers + SUB). Age: two years
1 x Creative Soundworks 2.1 speakers, beige ( Two small speakers and SUB)
Age: 8 years

Printers

1 x Samsung B&W Laser printer. No toner left. Two years old
1 x Lexmark Printer/Scanner/Fax vibe. No ink. 4 years old

I think that is about it.

The stuff is mostly quite old but it all works perfectly and is in good condition, so what do you guys reckon?

That is what I was thinking. But I am sure the CRTs must still be worth something at least...

IC give you like R400 off a monitor from them, when you trade your CRTs in to be refurbished and given to the needy. Only problem is that you then end up paying about the right price for the monitor, and they only do this once a year :p But I guess at least that way it goes to charity as well...

I know my little cousin would benefit from the PC ... what price tag would you put on that out of curiosity?

Try selling it on here, then try a auction nearby you

Then take the remaining bits and sell it all as a bundle ;)

Indeedy, I think I shall do that...

What kind of prices, realistically, bearing in mind the sentimental value of my very first PC which cost R20 000 when we bought it - I kid you not
