Has Facebook already broken WhatsApp?

Stopped using it a while ago... on BBM rather. Lots more people use BBM than Whatsapp it would seem
 
Paid 19bil to switch it off completely, then update it, then force current users to update to new version unleashing unknown forced changes upon them. Ag I kid he is probably just changing that horrible green to Facebook blue in MS Paint.

Could the downtime be related to an influx of subscribers when the story broke. A lot of the US market didn't use it so might be when the story came out a bunch of new people downloaded.
 
Go check out the new version on the site. It includes some much needed privacy updates. On android you can now block out who sees prof pic, or your last seen etc.

Yes, but it's an american company - after all the NSA crap, I am sticking with https://threema.ch/en/ - the Swiss have so far given everyone the finger. Fascinating backstory - just read that the majority of german users are ditching Whatsapp for Threema - so Zuckerberg must be spitting snakes ;-)
 
People are paranoid. This isn't the first time whatsapp has been down. I think they were down as recently as December. I doubt that Facebook has anything to do with it.

Note WhatsApp was down in Dec and Nov last year.
