I thought so  cause i been calling and no answer , now I have to replace a seagate 320gb Hdd and a chronos adsl router to my client who luckly happens to be my cousin at my expense. eish this bizniz is hard

I should have stuck to buying from Rectron, Esquire, Mustek and Pinnacle
pay a little more but at least you safe with warranties even if they not the greatest when it comes to support , cause these fly by night operations giving the IT industry a bad name

Genex bought from Rectron amongst other wholesalers so if you have Stock that is sold by Rectron give them a call for instance Seagate HDD's etc... And yes Brandt at Genex was the same one from TVR / Esquire.

Genex bought Seagate stuff direct from Storegate boet.
Maybe Rectron have just taken it upon themselves to 'help' with regards to warranties and such.

hey guys, you might still be able to claim your stuff from genex. Brandt an co have started their own shop! It is in the complex oppo genex. Its just oppo sahara shop 6A.

As someone that was in the industry I would stay the hell away from anyone who worked for 2 companies that went under in such a sort time. So whoever this Brandt guy is I would avoid him and any company is connected too. There is a reason why companies go under, and staff is 50% of the reason.

Storegate does not exist anymore, they are now called Ingram Micro. They also lost their Seagate sole distributor rights a long time ago. Anyone can import Seagate if they want, that is why some people have been having so much hassle getting drives replaced, when buying from a third party, you cant say where they got it from.

Dear Valued Client

It saddens me to say that Genex was liquidated last month and that all business practices were stopped on the 1 March 2009. First I would like you to know that I am not the owner of Genex nor is my son, Genex is owned by Warren Eppel. As you know when I started to work there in March 2008 we really changed the vibe at Genex and suddenly there was stock to sell. We did very well at Genex and I can assure you that neither myself nor the staff were the reason for the demise of this company. As you all know I was the manager at Genex at the time of the liquidation and was subsequently without a job and so were the other staff members. I have decided to open up my own Company and took some staff members with me. We have gone out of our way to assist GENEX clients with warranty’s and where it has been possible we have assisted a number of clients with warranty items within local warranty channels.

Damn. I had custom built a system with my ex-IT guy from parts sourced from Genex and it was assembled by the guy in their service dept and now I need to bring it back to him for some corrupt program. So who do I go to now?

Eish... I think my brother-in-law owns that building. Guess he'll be needing a new tenant. Unless he owns the Tarsus building. I'm too old to remember.

What was the reason for liquidation? All I remember about Genex when I had account there is that they had Jetway products. Does this knock on to the likes of Esquire who seem to love Jetway stuff?

What exactly do you guys do btw?

The building belongs to Warren the owner of Genex - reason for closure debt (overheads to high)
