Has Windows 7 Already Lost to Mac OS X?

it always amazes me how we humans tend to side for what we own. You own a Mac, you dig up 19999 things to support a mac. You own a PC, u dig up 9999 things to support a PC. You own an Audi... etc. etc.

My first question to anyone who supports something is, do you own one? If you do, you're biased, have a nice day and thank you for leaving. I'm guilty of it too, make no mistake.

so by how much % has MacOS oversold Windows?

The point is that Mac share is increasing despite the release of Win 7. It's not slowing down - obviously there won't be more Mac boxes than Windows ones - but the trend is what counts.

Anyone who says that Windows is so far ahead and 'so what' is just proving they're clueless.

Mac share - something people miss here - is increasing despite Windoze 7 release. After all, since your apps will need reinstall under 7 as does the OS - you can't just upgrade over XP - you may as well switch to OSX and use your Windows XP in bootcamp or virtual box.

Was that before or after the Windows7 release? Care to share links with information, NO FUD PLEASE!

BUT I own BOTH!

I see that Macs are superior.

I own a 2006 Mac Pro and a Panasonic CF-Y7 as well as a NEC netbook. Both run XP. I run Leopard on the MP.

I still use Windows but if my Pany and NEC could run OSX, I'd switch yesterday. Maybe keep Win on my old Acer as backup.

yes, a classic case of the tortoise and the bunny rabbit. Windows cannot guarantee its position simply because of being windows.

Perception is a grand problem too. If i mention to some family I'm running Ubuntu or Fedora they're like "oh isnt that that free thing thats trying to beat windows. it can never succeed " :)

but as i said, the world she'a changing. who knows, might be an open source windows one day if MS decides to focus on the OS and not the financial aspect. Although there is prob more chance of peace in the middle east first...

I gave you a link already - go read it.

You're the one full of FUD. You'll end up getting banned soon, you'll see.

The launch of Windows 7 in October did nothing to stop an increase in Mac share online, the latest data from Net Applications shows. Although the Microsoft OS was on sale for nine days last month, Windows' combined share of Internet traffic actually dropped to 92.52 percent while Mac OS X profited directly, reaching a new high of 5.27 percent. Windows 7 did gain share and represents 2.15 percent, but its gain was more than offset by a full percentage point of Windows users abandoning Windows XP, in many cases opting for the Mac or other platforms.

MaximumPC is a pro-MS site. And since you did not bother to read the link provided and just insulted everyone I'm reporting your post again. You just come here to attack people.
You should be banned from myadsl IMHO for insulting people and not replying to posts.

How can you see its superior if you do not run the latest windows OS? Yes we all agree you have to compare the latest Mac OSD's with XO to be fair. :D

Yes! You do need Windows as backup for the Mac, What a great feat to know that!

Why more things to support MAC?
:mad::p:D

Why because I make it a point to show your fanboiism up for what it is. I am still waiting for the last threat to be exercised.

The mods should prevent your continued flame-baiting threads you create deliberately and stop your anti Windows trolling in all and any Windows related thread.

I've tested the latest OS - both Vista and 7 and they don't offer advantage over XP. I've used XP, Vista, 7 and OSX and I find OSX >>> XP >> rest.
Did you use OSX yet?

I would keep it in case I need a Windows app, and it is a backup machine atm as the screen does not work.

When did you test windows OS's Vista and Windows7, please refer me to the posts where you related your experiences. PLEASE BUD!

Why would I test OSX if I have a super Windows machine, YOU will not find me bashing and befudding every Mac OSX or Linux just because I think Windows are good enough.

So there are programs you want to run/use and the MAC cannot run them? How interesting/convenient, slating the hand that saves your day (bacon)!

Why should I?

Look I you've been told not to attack me.

I'll explain it to you again BUD.

1. I attack my Windows experience.
2. You attack me.
3. I don't attack YOU.

No 2 is the reason you should IMO be banned, unless you change your ways.

What are you doing here then?

So there are programs you want to run/use and the MAC cannot run them? How interesting/convenient, slating the hand that saves your day (bacon)!

Personal attacks. I'm tired of debating with you. You are attacking me and I'm sick of it. GROW UP.

i thought a public forum allowed for free speech? its the internet. who cares what you're called.

When Microsoft users realize that OSX is a more superior OS. Just because millions are using something does not mean that the product is better it just means millions of people are DOM :D

Way to miss the point of my question. Go read the statement made by Shardie that I responded to. Making vague predictions ("it's a matter of time") puts you in the same boat as ICASA councillors promising us that LLU is 'imminent'.

I personally couldn't care less who wins the OS war but if Shardie is going to claim that "Its all a matter of time, Apple OSX will eventually be the dominant computer company", then he really needs to be less vague.

LOL @ the title

just because apple thinks it's a good chance to switch to *them* does not make windows "lose" to Mac OSX, especially since it's a 90/5 ratio for win/mac

Peter - I have learned that you are way too gullible, seeing their own adverts as the truth, whatever it is they say.

same with that video you posted of that old douche that says mac software is written "beautifully" and clearly tries to look unbiased, but is VERY biased towards apple (paid?) and tries to fool rich people who don't know anything about PC's to give money to apple.

your apple goggles are on so tight it's not even funny!
