Guys, this is the "cricketers sent off thread". The sportsmanship thread is the other one.
Although with zero cricketers sent off you might as well go moggy with this thread...![]()
Well getting back to the thread, I don't think it's common for players to be sent off in sports where there is an umpire officiating, since their job is just to enforce the rules of the game. The match referee deals with conduct issues after the match.
In sports where there is a referee officiating, they have to enforce the rules as well as control the flow of the game. There is also a higher chance of physical contact due to the nature of the sport, and they are therefore much less forgiving.
