So I came across this post on reddit
http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/k61ks/do_girls_actually_like_axe_body_spray/

Which got me thinking, I've probably been doing the whole body spray/fragrance thing wrong. I mean you want to smell unique (in a good way), not too much to overwhelm people who just walk past you, but also not too little that when giving someone a hug that you stink of a hard days work.

Now I'd like to ask the ladies (or the guys with SO who have commented on they smell), what makes a man smell good or what makes a man more attractive by his smell?

I think I've been doing it like the commercials and spray deodorant, hoping angels will fall from the sky. This is more generally to compensate for later on in the day, just so I still have that smell. I'm not a sweety person, so I think I'll cut down on the deo, to just 2 or 3 quick sprays.
I also have some eau de toilette's, my daily one being some cheap Umbro. I usually put this on my wrists and around my neck...

What about the fresh & clean smell? Do ladies prefer that? What soap/gel to use? I think the main problem with this is that lotion will end up covering the smell, unless there is a certain lotion smell ladies like.

I use Radox shower gel, roll-on for the pits, and a little EDT (half a squirt behind each ear and half a squirt on either side of the larynx).

Those aerosol deo sprays are awful. Rather spend a bit on some decent EDTs - they actually last a lot longer in my experience because you only need to spray so little.

"It puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again!"
:D
I couldn't resist, sorry.

I agree, roll on to prevent the smell buildup, and a spray to off set the softner in your clothes.

I prefer a musk scent, and its drawn far more positive responses than most other scents - except for AXE Wild, which I can't find anymore - so I use Brut Musk.

The roll on keeps me dry and the aerosol just freshens up.

I try to find aftershaves that complement the deo, since too much musk might make me smell like a wilsons sweet.

Also, I find a light cotton shirt/vest under the shirt you wear keeps you drier and thus smell free.

Hahahahaha - Classic :)

My 5 cents worth: Use an unscented deodorant. That way, your deo and cologne don't clash. Also, I once asked a friend of mine what cologne he uses, turns out that he doesn't and it was just the nice smell from his clean clothes.

I dunno, I like to smell of soap and Axe. I've always had the theory that a fresh sweat (as opposed to haven't showered in a couple of days) can be a bit of a turn on for women. Like an aphrodisiac or something. Although that's more of a sexy time thing.

I actually didn't use any deodorant or aftershave for years. Now it's Protex soap and a very little Axe and I find most women don't seem to mind prolonged close proximity to me. *Homer whisper* In fact I think they quite like the way I smell.

I've never minded a little bit of a natural (sweaty) smell on men, but the fresh soap smell is also good, but nothing is sexier than leaning in and picking up a faint scent of cologne. (in the neck and behind the ears)

Dude, you're hanging out with some weird women then hehehehe

Maybe this is a classic case of love is blind, or in some cases...Noseless :-)
