Never offered a bribe or been asked to provide one.

On the road have been asked for bribes a couple of times on completely fabricated charges for potential fines and every time I said go ahead and write it and then nothing came of it and suddenly I was let off with a warning for something that never happened in the first place.

I did once pay a bribe because I was properly in the wrong and knew it, but it was almost offered as a joke because I had R40 in my wallet and we were two people in the kak and I had no intention to make a further plan, but when our third mate arrived they had this weird logic it must be our lawyer and took it without further question.

Have paid many a facilitation fee when travelling for work or pleasure over the years.

Yep, during travels in the UK, Asia and South America. It was the only way to actually get anything done.

I brought up 3 girls. Of course I had to bribe them often. Kids are easily bribed with snacks and sweets. Especially when they were young and I was behind on a few years of sleep because of them. A simple mcD's kiddies meal and do not disturb me for at least 2 hours. Worked 78% of the time

Yes.

When I was in first year at University and 18, I offered a librarian some cash to photocopy a textbook for me. He declined and brought it up whenever we bumped into each other on campus.

It was super embarrassing and I never tried it again since. I was told to do it by a family member and gullibly believed him.

No, but seen the driver of the M3 I was a passenger in give one. Took it for a spin on Main Reef, and got pulled over. Metro said "very nice car, can I see your licence?". Friend wrapped the licence in a R200 note and passed it to the cop. He said "everything is in order, have a nice day", and walked off.

My brother drives an M2 and keeps a R200 note with his licence under the sun visor.

Asked for one or hinted.. yes but I’m kinda dumb with these round the bush hints haha. I don’t carry cash so it’s kinda pointless and if we talking traffic cops I tell them to write the ticket so I can get on with my life which is problematic when you record driving.

Offered directly not really, lots of attempts to get me or prev companies involved with dodgy deals or cut the company out stuff.. usual stuff you get when in the field but I’m not interested so bleh.

I think evaluation of adherence to ethics at hiring or drilling it into to people early on prior to them being in a comprising position makes a difference.. but who knows. Religion, race, culture or creed makes no difference from what I’ve seen despite claims otherwise.

It’s simply how you see your role in society.. some love to believe everyone is against them and thus justify it all but forget as a result the opposite person could be doing the same thing and then SA happens. Keep it clean and life is easier.

I bribe my bf with tea every night so he'll give me back tickles until I fall asleep
