I just got a full report of all the data my 3G users at work uploaded and downloaded for January - I can't help but notice that there are a huge amount of downloads that are exactly 1 meg or 5 megs large.

Out of the 3267 instances where a connection was made, 398 of those instance resulted in exactly 5 megs (5242880 bytes) being downloaded and 820 instances where exactly 1 meg (1048576 bytes) was downloaded - has anyone else come across this?

I wonder if it's not a function of the billing, i.e. a record is written at 1 or 5M, if timers did not trigget the event. Will ask. Can you PM me your details?

I've noticed this, yes. And I'm sure that it's a timing issue, as if the billing is split up into time slots (when usage is continuous).

edit: my 5meg parcels weren't exact down to the bit. that leads me to believe its more a timing issue than anything else.
