With the government reporting almost 8 million tests to date - have you had a Covid test? If so was it a PCR test (nasal swab) or an antigen test? Or have you had both?

My family that tested positive all had this done but from throat swabs. They said it wasn't so bad. Why does the test with the thing up the nose even still happen if the throat version is less invasive and available?
(also, why so few antigen tests?)

Had the throat swab last year. Nurse said they ran out of stock of the nose one and were waiting for more. Asked her what the difference was...said none that she knew of. Dunno. Seemed odd.

Yes, multiple. The experience varies a lot, some are in and out others go at it like a ****ing chimney sweep.

I must say, I didn't even know there was a throat version until my sister and them had it done. I will certainly not have a nose one now that I am aware of an alternative.

Yep, twice in fact......throat swab last year and nasal this year.

Sure there's a possibility of a false result, but seeing as I've had continual GI problems for many weeks which I've never suffered from before I'm starting to think I may have had it and am carrying some viral load or had it.

Had two PCR (Nasal) and one Antigen. The wife had Covid last year... Nasal swab is nothing really... I have had 6 or more sinus ops ... have my ENT regularly poking a scope up my sinal cavities. Swab is easy in comparison.
