those who had PCR tests, especially if tested positive: any idea what the cycle threshold was for your test?

Daughter had the PCR test on the 9th January, wife had the PCR test back in October before a surgical procedure and again on the 12th January, as my daughters test was positive.

I was waiting for symptoms before taking the PCR test, but never presented so never tested... Wife was negative...

Don't they swab an area they believe may have a good sample? Like the mucous membranes?

FFS Vanessa, the tests aren't accurate enough to detect smaller quantities so you'd obviously want to get the biggest sample possible.

Although saliva swabs are apparently better.

Yes. While in the process of having a heart attack. Asked the silly bitch if results would be available immediately. Of course not. Was only available a day later, after I could've already infected an entire cardio ICU ward. But "rules" are "rules".

2x nose and 2x throat all negative.
I kept getting sick over the past 4 months with chest issues.
Docs kept sending me for covid tests until I ended up in ER after struggling to breathe.
Turns out I've developed severe asthma as an adult.

PCR Nasal - hella uncomfortable but luckily came out negative

1st PCR was a throat swab, the following 5 were via my shnozz and the last was an antigen test and was also via the shcozz.

All of them were nasty but the nose felt way worse compared to the throat.

Our company is busy debating the frequency of testing required by us and I do not look forward to their decision (Things like a PCR every fortnight and an antigen test twice a week was suggested).

With the government reporting almost 8 million tests to date - have you had a Covid test? If so was it a PCR test (nasal swab) or an antigen test? Or have you had both?

Meanwhile, in China, they've done 20x more tests with only a 16th of our cases. Astonishing!
