Have you submitted your tax return?

Info - start sooner when doing it for the first time ;)

I've been bugging him to get it done since June. His dad is an accountant so he told me not to worry, his dad will do it.

What happens if he doesn't submit this year and only next?

Yea, uploading and submitting is the easy part. Finding these documents was the difficult part, i still don't know why i need to submit IRP5s (i worked for multiple employers and each submitted it to SARS during the employer filing) to them when the employer did it already. So i had to contact previous employers and ask them for physical / digital copies of the %^$$ exact same thing they sent to SARS. *boggle*

Now that is farked up.

Why are you doing it? Let the lazy bugger learn to do it himself.

Surprisingly, they did not audit me this year. Although, submitting documents is a breeze on eFiling - as long as you have a scanner.
It is a pain, you may have 5 documents each limited to 2MB each, if you scan in a decent enough resolution and have more than just the basics it gets to a stage where it is a juggling act to get everything submitted.

Oh i totally forgot , it wasn't that simple indeed. I ran into the 20 (i think) file limit for the submission . Since they wanted like monthly statements of everything (implying 12x statements multiplied by every account you have) . I had to get a PDF editor and merging documents into giant PDFs , then trimming them down by removing some of "filler" pages on the statements etc etc. So juggling act indeed!

He does a lot for me, the least I can do is help him out with stuff like this

I don't think doing someone else's tax return, when you have no idea how to do it, will be much help. Also know that you have to indicate on the form that you are not the tax payer themselves doing it. Might get you in a spot of bother if you get it wrong or Mr. does-a-lot does not give you complete and accurate information.
