i have a 700mb avi file stargate, bit it wont play in any player,i tied all codecs and all it says is the file cannot be rendered. It might be corrupt.I tried downloading apps to fix the file but the programs cant fix it.
It there no way to fix this file or at least break it down.I am at wits end here:D

Have you tried VLC?

I tried them all, gspot says codec status undetermined
pic

It seems the file is corrupted then. Have you tried Googling for the file name? Maybe the source can tell you what codec was used.

Other options may be:
The index is broken.
VLC can usually play such files and Gspot should
id that. The GOM player should also be able to play it.

You could install more codecs on your system, eg KLite codec
pack from www.free-codecs.com

Download DivXRepair and try it:

Try AviMedic:
