You could very well be correct. They are very fractured too with culture against culture (tribal wars). The middle east is full of wars because of that.

Who were the prior occupants of 'Zulu terrority'? Did the Zulus perhaps take it from someone else? According to my Sotho domestic, the Zulus have never been good neighbours. I once met a white guy who lived in KZN, and disagreed vigorously with her viewpoint: he was killed by a Zulu, maliciously - as opposed to accidentally.

I once met a white guy that thought he was superior to the blacks.....

I once looked into the origin of the disagreement between the Shia and the Sunni muslims. It was apparently a dispute over who was Mohammad's successor. I assumed that money and/or power was the underlying issue.

You can find similar disagreements within Christianity of course. And no doubt there are semitic sects too. And any other religions you can name. I wonder if there is even one that has not had some sort of division? Can anyone name one?

Off top of my head I would have to say the Native American beliefs or religion if you can call it that. I don't recall them ever going war against each other or fighting over their deities or interpretations of spirituality.

Thank you for the reference. It is obviously not complete by a long shot, but as you say there is no indication of inter faith rivalries. The mention of the banning of the religions could point to them being unified by that oppression.

A distinct possible!!
