Hazard on N1

Hi,

Was driving today and there was an accident ahead and this guys bumper fell off. I couldn't avoid it and drove over it. It has caused some damage to my bumper and damaged the cover( under my car). How do I handle this? I don't want to claim from insurance because its not that bad damage and don't want my premiums to go up.

When there was construction you/insurer could claim from sanral.

I hit a truck tyre. I did not know this then.

So it's all useless information.
 
Will take pics. The other guy rolled over. I'd feel too crap to go and tell him to sort out my minor bumper damage
Can RAF not pay for it?

The RAF is bankrupt and if you should, miraculously get any money, it won't be anytime in the next decade.
 
RAF is anything but bankrupt!

How do you think the private services etc make their money?

If they were bankrupt, trust me, there wouldn't be so many private services!

If you don't want to pay for the damage to be repaired, you will have to go to the other guy with the quote for the damage and he will have to pay. Not really sure why you would feel crap going to the other guy? Is he a friend of yours?

RAF is for medical costs only.
 
okay I've decided that I'm just gonna make a claim. Thank you for all your input guys.
 
Toxic Bunny. He was in a stretcher on way to hospital and the passenger of his car had passed away. I didn't want to add the extra stress of having to pay for my bumper.

SASRIA is for Riot and strike claims only. They never get claims, and therefore have no idea what to do when one does arrive for a riot or a strike incident.

Ahhh ok, well that changes things slightly in terms of the immediate situation. You just said "his bumper fell off" and rolled over, doesn't quite indicate that someone died.

Doesn't change that you should technically claim from his insurance anyway in the long run.
 
Hey i got a quote its 800 bucks for the paint job but that's excluding the cover thing underneath the car. Well I drove into this bumper but the actual car was quite distance ahead and by the time I got there ,there were already other cars around etc
