Hi guys

I was thinking of buying a 32" Samsung HD ready TV. Now in regards to the difference I know that the HD Ready TV lacks the tuner to convert a normal signal to High Definition, but in the case of my XBOX 360, will the image be in HD or not?

Also has anybody heard any complaints of the Samsung LA32B350?

At 32" you won't notice the difference. Next question, please! :p

An HD ready TV is blurb for 720p so it's quite capable of playing all your HD content at a downscaled level. So not a 1080p HD image, but it will be fine for a 32" Samsung.

+1

for 32" 1080p or Full HD is a waste

but... but I plan on sitting up real close to the screen to drool over Dragon Age..... C'mon guys. Serious answer please

Edit; Damn you and your ninja edit ^^

I see you mouse click speed is not yet as strong as mine, young Padawan. :D

The only down side to that tv is that using it as a computer monitor won't be all that awesome. But for console games, as the others said, it'll be just fine. Plus it's a Sammy, so you can't go wrong ;)

In regards to using it as a PC monitor, it has a native resolution of 1366 x 768, so using it to play something like World of Warcraft (which I play at 1024 X 768 anyway) won't be out of the question. The most likely thing I can see, is me keeping WoW on my 22" Samsung and using the 32" to browse the forums and keep a check on Vent as well with my music :P

Sorry, should have been more clear:

PC games will be awesome on the TV. But desktop usage won't be so cool.

Don't worry, that deal isn't once-in-a-lifetime or anything. The price regularly drops down to that much. And some places have been known to drop it as low as R3499.

I think the deal is quite awesome. I've been digging around for reviews and such and have never come across it under R4999.00.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a good deal. You just haven't been looking hard enough :p

None of this "It fell off the back of the truck I swear" I hope :D

Of course not. At the Hifi Corp that opened at Canal walk, it was going for R2999 IIRC. Now THAT'S an insane price :)

Go HD. and Wait for the XMas specials from http://www.demostock.co.za.

Last year I bought my Bravia 40" + 6.2 Sony Home Theatre for R16999 incl delivery. At the time, next lowest price was from Game at R22K. The items arrived BNIB, unopened, unused.

TBH I just don't have that much cash to throw away (not wasting, there is a difference). This however is in my budget and for a single income household, I think it's the right choice :)

Sammy is never the wrong choice :D
