HD PVR 2P Replacement Remote

Hi,

It says "Model A3", just like my old one, but it doesn't do anything...

Is there something that I need to do to sync or activate the remote?

If it is the UEI remote, you have to program it still.

Dial to position like 1a
Press and hold shift key until it blinks yellow few times, enter 22089
Then it should blink green, try

HD PVR 2P - 22089

Cool - thanks Mine didn't have the detailed codes for DSTV decoders, just TVs, etc.

I was always trying it with the dial on "1", but it seems to be pre programmed under "C" for the HD PVR 2P.

It doesn't allow me to program any code under 1, 2, 3 or 4. I think you are only allowed to program "A", "B", "C" and "D". The codes you gave work if I program it under A,B,C or D.

Strange that the original remote was setup under "1" for the HD PVR - but not this one.

So you are sorted? I'm not at home now, but can try to locate manual online if needed?!

This is what they say of the modes:

The remote control dial has 8 modes.
Modes 1 – 4 are for use with PVR, 1110 or
1131 decoders. Modes A – D are
programmable and can be used to control
any other device (including older
MultiChoice decoders, the TV, Hi-Fi, etc).

Sorted thanks ... well using position A,B,C or D.

Still find it bizarre that I can't use position 1,2,3 or 4. Does yours work on 1 - 4 for an HD PVR 2P?

When i used these remotes, it was for sd pvr at 2 tv's
I have the explora now, so can't test (sold sd)

I found a post on the DSTV forum...

It seems like positions 1,2,3 and 4 are locked. They can be unlocked and programmed as per the instructions below... I will try tonight.


Step 1 (Unlock)
Select position 1 or 2 on the remote.
Press and hold down SHIFT key until the three blinks. Enter code 982.
This unlocks the position. Once the position has been unlocked you can program as before.

Step 2 (Program)
Select position 1,2,A,B,3,4,C or D on the remote.
Press and hold down SHIFT key until the three blinks. Enter code xxxxx

SDPVR1 = 21589
SDPVR2 = 21590
HDPVR = 22089

Oh, just to add... the instructions with the remote says the code for SONY TV = 00000. This doesn;t work - it gives an error :erm:

However, the code 01535 (for a Wharfdale TV) does work on my SONY LCD!
