HD PVR WON"T CHANGE CHANNELS

My DSTV PVR (the R2999 one) won't change channels.
It was on 185 then I wanted to push mute and it went to 100 and wouldn't move from there.
I hve tried two diff remotes with new batteries and still won't change channel with remote. It will change manually though - possible IR reciever problem or is it possibly locked in some way.
Tried:
Two diff remotes with new batteries
Unplugging for 10 min
Taking out "sim" card and cleaning
Reset button

Still nudda

Any help out there?

Are you maybe using a remote blaster ? I had a friend whose decoder used to change channels like a ghost was up to something, he found out that his neighbour had a remote blaster same as his so the solution was to shorten the aerial.

Or maybe some other IR device causing interference.
 
Nope remote blasters not in question here using directly.
Also the remote won't even give info/menu nothing comes up just the channel your'e on and the remote(both) won't do anything.

And if you use the 2nd channel ? Same problem ?

If resetting it as Juggy says doesn't work, then you'll probably have to take it in. Joy.
 
Have you had instances where it told you that there was a problem on your hard drive please power cycle too? As I had a string of those problems, then suddenly one day it got stuck on 170 and wouldn't change at all either, power cycled till I was blue in the face, nothing worked on the front panel either, took it in and multichoice replaced the decoder.

Ok so here is what happened:-
Somehow - on it's own the secondary (HDPVR) switched from secondary to primary and the Extra view was on primary aswell hence none of the remotes would work on TV2.

I went in on TV settings and set to secondary again and all is ok now.

Thought I would advise you'all just in case this happens to you'all.

Problem occoured whilst pushing the mute button.

The decoder cant change itself between primary & secondary, that gets done by MC
What happened was a reset to defaults as I mentioned in the first reply to this thread. You can request a patch software to stop this happening again

Having the exact same problem today. I was away for the weekend and when I got home today and trying to change channels I get an error and it stays on 100.
 
i'm also stuck on channel 100..
remote seems dead and i can't navigate using p+ and p-.. mentions something about me not having any favorite channels saved..
reset doesn't help.. help!
