But you're missing the point. Since there ARE still manufacturers for plasma as of right now, there's nothing wrong with buying it. It's cheaper, has better viewing angles and better contrast ratios (especially with black), not to mention the fact that it's better at displaying SD content, which, lets face it, is 90% of all available content right now.That is the point - Plasma is a technology at the end of its life. Only 3 manufacturers left, next year there will only be two.
No one should waste their time buying them anymore. I certainly never said they won' work... just that it fast becoming replaced by other technology. Don't waste your time and money with Plasma.
When they stop manufacturing plasma, it doesn't mean the TV will suddenly stop working. All it means is that you won't be able to buy an equivalent replacement new, should it stop working at which point you can then go to either back-lit LCD (which we don't have in SA just yet) or LED back-lit.
