hi

for those of you who have dealt with them, any feedback ? opinions ? etc.
any alternatives if hdcabling.co.za is less than ideal :confused:
 
What a stupid excuse for an online shop.That could very well just be a sub category for an existing shop.

Never heard of them,and will never use them.You'll have to be a die hard Jehovah's Witness to trust them.No contact details,nothing.

...you're site perhaps? :)

I am the owner of HDCabling CC and we only started this business in 2008 and our website is still new. If you read reviews from forums on systemshock.co.za and ps3za.co.za you will see that we have received good feedback from our customer base and reviews on our website. Since I monitor the internet actively for feedback on the company, this is the first thread I have seen that is negative to my company and without any reason.

We have done explanatory diagrams on our Extenders / Splitters and Switches and we provide customers with refunds if the product is not suitable for their home entertainment setups. When we receive common queries via e-mail we update our product descriptions with the qeury and answers. We do provide an online e-commerce shop with an e-mail contact form on the main page. Full details is shown if you click on the product catalog page and on the invoices after cart checkout. Since July 2008 we had over 250 customers.

The main goal of the company is to supply home users with an alternative to very expensive equipment since larger companies is overcharging customers due to their overheads they need to cover and we do import from 2 different countries. The website is standalone and not a sub-category of another website.

Welcome to the forums :) ... I wasn't providing negative feedback ... I just looked at your site and thought it a bit strange that you advertise "Since 2008" ... normally when I see those they say "Since 1999" or "Since 1978" or something :p

Personally, I think you should take that off the front page, as I think it may scare off customers. If you look at one of the first few threads I started on this forum ... it was asking the forumites to critisize my site and tell me what they don't and do like. I got tons of negative feedback, and I used it to better my site.

Don't take offense to what I said ... think of it more as a tip :)

I was in the same boat as you in May last year, and instead of taking criticism negatively, I use it to my advantage. But don't confuse criticism with negative feedback ... what I said is criticizing the site... I never badmouthed the company, and if you have got good reviews on system shock, then I am sure you are quite good at what you do.

If I may ask though, why have a whole website dedicated to a few cables? Its an honest question ... I don't know much about cabling, so you can provide me a nice answer :)

Hi eitai2001,

No offense taken, I just wanted to explain that our main communication method is via e-mail and why the site doesn't look that good yet due to it very new.

Regarding the mission of the company / current product list : The catalog does expand every month, but we do import in quantities > 100 since the manufacturers does not allow < 100 and currently I am evaluating which products sells best. We do stock all items ourself and handle the warranties except for a few items which we buy locally which we return to the local supplier (Such as International to SA Electrical adapters).

Our main focus is more on HDTV Distribution, Extending & switching since some companies need to distribute a single source to multiple boardrooms or LCD's. The cables are just the pheripherals that goes with the extenders / switches & splitters. There is only that much you can do with an HDMI signal (Connect, Split, Switch, Amplify, Extend) Home customers are also having LCD's in multiple rooms and this is our main focus since the release of the Multichoice HD PVR. I have an agreement with installers regarding installations in Pretoria / Johannesburg / Benoni and Durban since we do get queries regarding installations countrywide. If you know someone in CT that does these type of installation please mail me and I will forward requests from CT area to him and supply them with the products needed regarding installation.

We have a collection facility in Centurion as well (Where most online websites only provides postage) but it is not under the HDCabling CC name yet and another person is handling collections for us for people in the vicinity.

I had the webmaster change the frontpage a few times since it only explains a company overview, but will check what is the best strategy and information to provide.

And wouldn't hiding the fact that it was started in 2008 come across as dishonest? A company the deliberately withholds information would be seen as trying to mislead its customers. I don't see why a illegitimate website would post that but it makes sense why a legitimate website would.

Out of interest what sort of HDMI splitters do you sell, the shop I used to work for needs some for their Bravia display ... can you e-mail me some pricing and stuff (dealer pricing is preferential as I will resell it to them :p) ... you can get my e-mail address on my website ... just click the digital addiction link below and click contact us ... not posting e-mail here for spam reasons.

You don't see me shouting across my site that I have been going for just over a year, otherwise people may be scared off and untrustworthy. But I don't hide it ... its in my company reg. number, my about us page, and terms and conditions I think.
 
i bought some stuff from hdcabling, it was quite a nice experince, the owner called me to tell me my package has arrived at the post office and i can go pick it up :eek: i give them 9 out of 10 for stocking things that no one else in SA stocks

Purely because he posted a response to question/concerns on MyBB will turn me in their direction. Being concerned about public perception is a good thing.

Agreed :p ... although there is one special circumstance against this ... its a touchy subject though, can't remember the shop or guys name either.
 
I have also had a good response time on queries i had on some of their products. Don't know how or why Biggie came up with that perception of this shop.

Yes please do ... will have to check out the abadge thing ... maybe thats why I haven't received e-mails from the site ... lol :p
