HDD problem

hi guys, need some help.

i just about an hour ago bought a seagate barracuda 7200rpm 250gig HDD, and now when i connect everything it does not show up in My Computer, i know i have to format it but i cant, anybody help pls.

go to control panel, administrative tools,computer management, storage, disk management..... see if you can see the drive there. If so left click and format.

If not, then......?

nope, my drive is not there

do you have a external usb cable to harddrive.If you have then do it from there.Please get Is the settings right on the drive.Is the drivers loaded.Do you have a 3rd party software for drives.Boot in safe mode and try again.
go into bios and check if it detects the drive

Try this also.

Restart and do a windows install but don't install windows just create a new partition on the hhd (raw) and then restart and format it in windows.

Next time just go control panel, admin tools, computer management, disk management and format it that way, alot faster than booting up with your disk.
