HDD Question

Hi guys

I need a bit of your help and advice please.
There is a server that current has multiple physical disks in a Raid 5 config. In Windows, it appears as one drive that is split into two partitions.

Now I am starting to run out of space. If I add another physical drive to this server, how will it assist? Will it just add to the Raid 5 as another redundant drive? Or will I be able to assign it to one of the partitions?

Please help a confused one

Are you running software or hardware raid?
Also do you have another spare sata connection on the raid card if you running hardware raid...

if you running software raid you will not be be able to add another drive...you will first have to wipe the drives and start all over.
