Hdd to hdd cloning won't boot

Hi all,

So struggling like never before,

I cloned a 500gb HDD to a new 1TB HDD ( my dad's company needed a new pc and has programs on with a database) with Easeus

Mbr to mbr , it completed with no issues, but it simply won't boot in the new system! It passes the bios and for a split second the windows logo slightly loads then it restarts. I've done this before and it never gave me issues like this...

I'm gatvol to say the least, drive is 1st boot priority , everything i can google i did try it won't boot.

Even the old drive in the new pc does the same?

Any tips would be helpful...
 
First verify a copy by connecting a new drive to the old PC.
If works, it is also a time to verify setting in the BIOS:
- SATA configuration (standard, AHCI)
- BOOT mode (compatible, UEFI). You mentioned copying MBR, it is probably non-UEFI.

Was it a question or statement? :)
Assuming the later, go to the BIOS setup on the new PC and compare settings with the old PC. You will probably have to change SATA mode and boot mode. The settings on the new computer may have different names or meaning. If you are not sure, post here, but then you must also supply details of the old and new motherboards.

Doesn't sounds like it, then it won't work. If you do a sysprep on the old drive, before you clone it, then you might have a slight chance. But don't think it will work. The hardware on the new PC must be the same as on the old one, for it to work.

So wait you're cloning a drive and moving the clone to a new pc?

That crashing after showing the windows logo for a second has mostly always been a drive setting in the bios, ahci or legacy/ide. try changing that around and test.
Have you tried safe mode? to load drivers?

I think it's most likely a SID mismatch issue, seeing that the hardware differs.
 
Also, what OS? Windows XP up to Win 8 (I think) won't work in new hardware, because of the chipset differences. Also, give us the hardware specs? This only became a thing with Win10.

Windows 7 system

Yes new PC, old 2012 gen to 6 gen intel

Hows that? i've done this before , old to new system and worked with no probs.
Only difference is it's quite older than the current one

Well, don't know the specifics of your previous successful cases, so I don't know why those worked.
 
Booted!

The old drive boots in the new drive, so will get everything in place like drivers , remove anti virus. Then clone again, in theory that should work haha
 
I recommend using Macrium and have the PE environment prepped on a flash drive so if you encounter boot issues you boot off the flash drive and get Macrium to fix it. Its reliable and the free version will do everything you need... including TRIM support when cloning to an SSD
 
Old drive boots in the New PC?

Well, anyway, what I'd do is boot PC with whatever windows flash drive with the new drive in, then go to the repair option, it will find something wrong with the boot setup, it will offer to fix it, and then on restart it will boot fine (if you don't with the install disk again).
