Hi,

Been trying to buy aTelkom LIT TV box as it has a A/V out put which should allow me to connect this streaming box to my HD monitor which does not have speakers. So far purchasing a unit is proving to be "mission impossible "

So any ideas how I might use a Roku or Amazon streaming stick/box and split the audio out from the HDMI cable, and feed to a preamplifier and leave the picture on my monitor?

Thanks
Edit:

Re: Bwana: Roku does not support DSTV ...
Probably Amazon as well ...

Need Sport... darn it

Seems like I am up the creek without a paddle ...

With something like this, and a back to back HDMI connector.

I think you're looking for something like this. I have one, but it's just gathering dust. I wanted to use it with an android box, but that thing gave me endless issues so I ended up selling the droid box (was a remix mini pc). I've since switched back to a windows based htpc and no longer need it. But anyway. Look for something along those lines. Just check the audio quality output if you can- the one I have picked up a slight buzz- which may or may not be due to said android box- I never bothered to check with another source

Somewhat of a complex device, might work, but is overkill, by the look of things

I have an HDMI switcher that does just that.

You can plug in multiple HDMI sources and it outputs Video to one HDMI and Audio to optical / AV.

Will post model no + pic when I get home.
